What makes you happy when it comes to food?

Quality and time are always my winners in my book.

I love good food, that is not to say that I do not treat myself but essentially freshly cooked, wholesome food without additives or preservatives make me happy and in return I feel good. That said exercise plays a big part, as does the process of cooking and taking the time to enjoy the meal that is in front of me,

A rushed breakfast is very unhelpful start to my day, instead I choose a time after everyone has left the house (or currently on the correct laptop for school or work) to sit and fully take pleasure in my first meal of the day, whether it's porridge with linseeds and fruit or eggs on toast with roasted tomatoes. You might feel this is gratuitous, and a few years back I would be with you, but I found it counterproductive to not enjoy these moments. Daily stomach aches stopped me from focusing, which became a vicious cycle of a stressed stomach and nausea, but this has all but disappeared by changing my attitude towards my start of the day and just taking a little more time over meals...dare I say it, think back to when we savoured over restaurant meals when we used to go out!

Following the food seasons makes me happy too plus it is good on the pocket too...produce harvested at peak from local farmers so best quality, flavour and price.

Currently enjoying the food for the senses; warming roasts, crumbles, soups with fresh bread plus much more wonderfully cosy food.

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” – Hippocrates

Be kind to yourself and take your time to enjoy food at every level...see events below.

See you at the table.

P.S. please let me know what you would like to see at the table?
